Beloved Cliffs
My Beloved Cliffs he said as he watched me paint one of the cliff sites I had admired and photographed on one of my recent coastal walks. He spoke so eloquently of his intimate experience of the beauty of the rocks that have formed over time, of the harsh weather that had formed such amazing shapes and how alive he feels when he climbs and is amongst them.
His story and connection to the work as it unfolded inspired me to instill in my work the energy and love with which he spoke. To do justice to his deep connection to place. A message of belonging important to us all.
